Early Morning Hot Air Balloon Flight : 60 Minutes(Alice Springs )

Alice Springs Complimentary transfers to and from your accommodation included with every flight. Private addresses and rural properties may not be included in our pickup schedule. If this occurs, we will advise you of the best meeting location.

Meeting times vary throughout the year but are about one hour before first light. The exact time will be confirmed when you book.

You will be with us for approximately 4 hours depending upon where we land.

Minimum age recommended is 6 years old. We can take 3-5 year old children but we do not recommend as they generally cannot see over the side of basket (1.2 metres high) and cannot be lifted up although they can look through foot holes. Also, the noise of the burners or the fire itself can scare them (recommend earplugs).

However, you know your children and if after reading this you would still like to take your 3-5 year old with you then we are happy to take them as well. Child prices will apply.

It is dusty in the Outback. Outdoor clothing (preferably not white), long pants and hat or cap are recommended. Enclosed flat heel shoes are essential. It is no colder in the balloon than on the ground but it can be cooler before sunrise. Warm clothing may be necessary from approximately May to September.

Loose items such as dangling jewellery and scarves are not permitted once passengers reach the launch site and dis-embark from the bus.

Safety is our primary concern and if you are prevented from flying due to unsuitable weather conditions you may either rebook to another day or receive a full refund.

Physical fitness is not a requirement to enjoy a ballooning adventure, but passengers must be able to climb up and into the basket (approx. 1.2 metres in height). There are foot holes, which act like a ladder. Everyone must stand upright for the duration of the flight, as there are no seats in the basket, but there are secure high sides to lean on.

Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) rules and regulations and Outback Ballooning’s policy prevent us from flying women who are over 12 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy must be advised in advance.

Illness and/or recent operations that may affect the person or other persons on the tour must be notified to Outback Ballooning in advance. Medication should be brought on the tour.

The packing up tasks at the end of the flight are optional and we would appreciate your assistance in these enjoyable activities. However, they do involve some lifting and participation is entirely voluntary. Passengers that are less able bodied are invited to stand back and take photos. Persons with medical conditions participating in the balloon flight and pack up activities do so at their own risk.

Any form of disablement must be discussed with Outback Ballooning prior to making a booking. Each person is considered on an individual basis.

The flight and carriage of any passenger will take place at the pilot’s discretion.

We recommend that you wear a mask unless you can abide by the social distancing recommendations of 1.5 metres or more.

Hand sanitiser will be made available to you throughout the morning, but please be aware that for safety reasons, hand sanitiser is not able to be carried onboard the balloon as it is classed as a flammable liquid.

Should you feel unwell the day before or on the morning of your flight, we ask that you please do not arrive for your flight. You MUST call our office immediately. You will also need to provide proof that you have tested positive for COVID-19 (photo of our Rapid Antigen Test). Failure to advise cancellation and supply proof will result in our cancellation policy coming in to affect.

You will receive your flight check-in link 2 days prior to your flight via email. Each member of your flight party will need to follow this link and complete the check-in process before 5pm the day prior to your flight. All passengers must have checked-in prior to being picked up for their flight.

After the product is successfully booked, we will send you a confirmation voucher. The main information about the reservation and the precautions for participation will be provided on the confirmation voucher. Please read it. If you do not have any feedback, we consider that you have read and know all the information on its confirmation.

As an intermediary agency, we are only responsible for making travel product reservations for tourists.

We recommend that tourists purchase travel insurance. Tourist product suppliers such as tourist attractions, hotels and transportation companies will be directly responsible for the quality, service and safety of travel products. We are not responsible for any safety issues with the products ordered.

In the event of an unexpected situation without insurance, we will only assist in handling it.

If the booking is forcibly cancelled due to the reasons of the travel product supplier, we will refund the full amount corresponding to the booking without additional compensation.

We will try our best to assist tourists to communicate and negotiate solutions with tourism product suppliers.

No show: Ticket holders who 'no show' without prior cancellation or notification are not eligible for a refund.

For some marine products (including but not limited to various cruises, whale watching cruise, etc.), the supplier reserve the right to arrange alternative vessels or make changes to itineraries, service timetables, routes and/or destinations. The supplier may cancel or abandon the cruise if they consider it necessary for weather or safety reasons and except as expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions, we will not be liable for any loss or expense incurred by the Passenger caused by such substitution or cancellation.

When visiting attractions or participating in activities, please strictly adhere to the instructions provided by the venue or staff. Ensure you fully understand the associated risks (refer to venue announcements or the safety waiver required for signature for specific details), cooperate as required to implement appropriate safety precautions, and strictly refrain from engaging in any dangerous behaviors during the activity.
