Overview
Explore Australia’s original winemaking Chateau and the birthplace of the barossa wine industry as our Cellar Door host takes you on a journey through over a century of Chateau Tanunda history.
Learn more about the secrets of Château Tanunda Estate, the pioneering spirit of the people who established it, the wine industry legends who cut their winemaking teeth here, and what makes it a unique part of the Australian wine industry. You will hear what it was used for from inception to family ownership today and how Château Tanunda played its role in the formation of the Barossa Valley and its international reputation.
Your host will then guide you through a seated tasting of wines from our ‘Heritage’ and ‘The Chateau’ series of wines. Immerse yourself in the heart of the historic and atmospheric cellar amongst hundreds of barrels of maturing wine and see why our cellar door experience is rated amongst the top things to do in the Barossa Valley.
