Overview

Overview
– Spoil the wine-lover within you with our stunning scenic and adrenaline lifting helicopter ride and winery tour. Flying you straight from our Hoffnungsthal Valley heli-pad, past the quaint southern Barossa village of Lyndoch, tracking right along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley before descending in style at Pindarie Wines. Soar above the iconic vineyards, enjoying panoramic views that capture the essence of this world-renowned wine region.
– We know this trip will have made you thirsty, so you will be greeted by your winery host upon your arrival who will guide you through a tasting and the fascinating history behind Pindarie.
– Once you’ve finished your tasting, choose your favourite wine to enjoy with one of their famous “Pindarie Pie” dishes. Relax and dine amidst the scenic backdrop, enhancing your romantic culinary adventure in the heart of South Australia’s wine country.
– After lunch re-board the helicopter and it’s time to take your breath away! Our pilot will fly you past towards Historic Seppeltsfield Winery, so you can take in the breathtaking views of vast vineyards and palm tree studded roads. Then as you continue towards Nuriootpa, your pilot will point out Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfold’s Winery.
– You can also see the stunning old buildings of Chateau Tanunda and numerous historic churches as you fly across the valley floor. As we fly further south, get ready to enjoy a view over Jacob’s Creek Winery, home of some of the largest wine tanks in Australia. From there we take you back to the southern end of the Barossa, gliding over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall before descending back into the Hoffnungsthal Valley.

– Pack your walking shoes, for a guided leisurely trail walk to the top of Schoff’s Hill for what we reckon is the best 360-degree view in the Barossa. From there we explore the farm and vineyards whilst learning about our story, vines and sustainable farming on the Western Ridge of the Barossa.

[Taste]
– Through the heritage doors of our beautifully restored Stables wine room, you will find intriguing and delicious wines to discover accompanied by a cheese tasting board. Your personalised tasting will feature the option to try all our estate grown wines; the alternative varietals and Barossa classics. Just before your lunch is served, we finish with a tasting of our iconic Black Hinge wines.

[Graze]
– Find your place to relax and take in the magnificent views of the Pindarie farm, Barossa ranges and vineyards. Settle in as we serve you your seasonal grazing lunch accompanied by a glass of estate wine of your choice. You’ve earned it after the stroll to the top of the hill!

[Grazing Lunch]
– Our grazing lunch is flexible and can cater to your choice of a homemade gourmet pie plate, a seasonal salad, or a sumptuous grazing platter, finished off with a homemade dessert and barista coffee or freshly brewed tea.

The helicopters can get quite hot during the Aussie summer months and cooler during the winter months, so dress comfortably. If you plan to take photographs, we recommend darker colours to reduce any window reflections. Ladies, please wear flatter shoes. Hats, bags, or any loose clothing are not allowed to be worn in or around the helicopters as they can fly up into the rotors and damage the aircraft. We will be happy to hold any hats or bags for you until you return from your tour.

This is a scenic tour, not a thrill ride. Most people do not experience motion sickness. Our flights are smooth, and turns are slow and gentle. We recommend that if you are prone to motion sickness, that you do not use your camera or phone. Looking at these screens can create distorted vision, which can cause motion sickness. If you are particularly prone to motion sickness an anti-motion sickness medication is a good idea.
