Good to know

HOW LONG DOES THE TRIP TAKE? Allow 3 hours return trip from central Queenstown reservations shop.

WHAT KIND OF PLANES DO YOU HAVE? We operate two Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft – the Supervan 900

CAN I BE ON THE SAME PLANE AS MY FRIEND? Our plane can hold up to 9 customers at once so it is possible to be on the same plane as your friends. This is dependent on many factors and we will do our best to keep groups together.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Nothing much! So long as you have foot wear that won’t fall off, and an appropriate amount of clothing depending on the season. In Winter, we do recommend that multiple layers are more suitable than one large jacket.

CAN YOU WEAR GLASSES WHILST SKYDIVING? Yes you can wear your prescription glasses whilst skydiving. We have goggles that will fit over your glasses

I WEAR CONTACT LENSES, IS THIS OK? Yes! But we do suggest bringing your contact solution just in case your lenses dry out

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO GO SKYDIVING? Skydiving is a very weather dependent adventure activity; we always recommend the best time to go skydiving is at the start of your trip. This allows the opportunity for movement and avoidance of disappointment if your original booking is unable to go ahead due to weather. In terms of the time of day, mornings are always a great time to see Queenstown from above.

DO YOU ALLOW SPECTATORS? Providing we have enough space in our buses we can take spectators for free. This won’t be guaranteed and only available at the time of the trip. They are welcome to drive themselves to watch though and we can provide directions. This is limited to one spectator per customer and we cannot allow spectators on the last trip of the day.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER ISN’T SUITABLE? Skydiving is a very weather dependent activity so sometimes we won’t be able to jump. We will try our best to re-arrange your trip to the next time slot that suits and is available. For this reason, we advise you to book your skydive on the first available time slot in your holiday and keep a back-up day free. If you cannot re-arrange to another trip, you will be refunded in full from wherever you paid originally.

CAN I TAKE MY CAMERA ON THE PLANE WITH ME? Unfortunately, personal cameras and Go Pro’s are prohibited from being on board the aircraft due to safety and insurance reasons. All of our equipment has to be checked properly due to the extreme nature of skydiving. However, you can take photos on the ground while getting ready and we do offer a professional skydive photographer that is able to jump with you and take photos/video during your skydive.

DO YOU OFFER INSURANCE? Unfortunately, we do not offer life insurance, although you are covered for medical treatment while in New Zealand under the Accident Compensation Commission. However, some companies will insure you to tandem skydive and you need to check this with your travel insurance company directly.

CAN I JUMP WITH AN INJURY OR MEDICAL PROBLEM? If you are unsure if an existing medical condition or injury will affect your skydive, please consult with your doctor for advice. We are unable to advise on medical issues.

CAN WE TAKE OUR CHILDREN ON THE BUS TRANSFER? We can only guarantee a transfer for the person skydiving. We can transport children if they are safely able to wear a safety belt and if space is available. New Zealand law does not permit us to carry infants or baby carriers on our buses.

Medical Conditions: NZONE must be notified prior to the jump date of any pre-existing or existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses. You will also be asked when you check in and may require an assessment from our Safety Officer. Medical conditions which could affect the customer’s safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure customers are fit to skydive. If required, bring a medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive. Please advise NZONE if you are taking prescription medication. It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms or blocked sinuses on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump, and we urge you to proceed with caution.

Consumption of Alcohol or ‘Recreational’ Drugs: No alcohol or “recreational” drugs are to be consumed within 8 hours prior to the scheduled skydive jump time. For the safety of all customers and staff, NZONE reserves the right to refuse customers who are suspected of being intoxicated or having impaired judgment, and this does not constitute a claim for a refund.

Restrictions for Scuba Diving: Due to medical restrictions, you must not scuba dive within 24 hours of the scheduled skydive jump time.

Restrictions on Personal Electronic Equipment: For the safety of all customers and in accordance with skydive regulations, the use of all electronic devices, including personal camera and video equipment is not permitted on the aircraft or at any time during the jump.

Acknowledgement of Risk: In undertaking this activity you need to be aware and understand that there is an element of risk involved. Parachuting and Skydiving activities are potentially dangerous and injuries and fatalities can and do occur. Not all risk can be foreseen, prepared for or avoided to the extent that even if the parachute equipment is operated correctly and packed and assembled correctly you may still be injured or killed.
