Pinnacles Day Tour – Travel to where the horizon touches the sky, for a star-studded, desert adventure in the midst of the incredible rock formations of the Pinnacles National Park. Witness the sun sink beneath the Indian Ocean, before marvelling at the glistening stars and Milky Way forming in front of your eyes. An evening highlight is looking up and listening to the Dreamtime stories behind the stars and pointing out the different constellations making up Aboriginal Astrology. This tour provides the latest in telescope equipment, so you can simply attach your smartphone to take stunning pictures of the night sky.

*Due to the temporary closure of Lancelin Lookout, we’ll be visiting Guilderton for breathtaking views of the sand dunes at sunset. The lookout is accessed by 83 steps (15 more than Lancelin), taking approximately 7 minutes to walk up. Facilities include toilets and a cafe at the carpark.

*This tour is affected by daylight savings hours, the departure time changes throughout the year to maximise the sunset experience

Itinerary for reference

– After 1.5 hours from Perth, take in the views from Guilderton lookout, replacing the Lancelin stop due to its temporary closure. (The specific arrangements will be subject to the tour guide’s instructions on the day.)

– The gigantic, snow-white dunes create a striking contrast against the glistening turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean in the distance. With toilets and a cafe available at the carpark.

– Shake the sand out of your shoes before we travel on to the Nilgen Nature Reserve.  If the flowers are in hiding, we’ll instead head over to Hangover Bay, where you can dip your toes in the crystal-clear waters or spot the likes of bottlenose dolphins and sea lions.

– It’s time to journey on to the Nambung National Park to witness the remarkable Pinnacles desert at sunset.

– Enjoy a Picnic dinner accompanied by a glass of local product wine (all included), while we settle in for a spectacular light show of natural wonder, beneath the sky.

Our central meeting point for this tour will be Criterion Hotel, 560 Hay St, Perth. Guests are to be waiting outside the main gates on Cavenagh Street for collection.
