Do you go to Hill Inlet Lookout on ZigZag Whitsundays?
No. We land directly on the real Whitehaven Beach and walk to the South Whitehaven Lookout. We don’t go to Hill Inlet Lookout. Hill Inlet is at the northern end of the island. Tours that go there experience Whitehaven Bay/Bettys Beach, a separate beach, then walk up to the lookout from Tongue Bay to view Whitehaven Beach. We take our guests to the official Whitehaven Beach (as per National Parks Signage) on the southern half, which is the part operators are permitted to use, and spend 4 to 5 hours there with unlimited boat-to-beach transfers.
Do both ticket types travel on the same boat?
Yes. Both the Whitehaven Beach All Day and Whitehaven Beach + Snorkelling tickets travel together on our Super Flyer catamaran. Guests on the + Snorkelling ticket will take a smaller transfer boat to the snorkel site while All Day guests continue enjoying the beach.
I can’t swim — can I snorkel?
Ability to Snorkel will be assessed by our crew on the day, and will be determined by:
• Experience and confidence in the water
• Medical conditions
• Water conditions on the day
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew
Your safety is our top priority. If we don’t believe that we can keep you 100% safe in the water, we will kindly request that you do not participate in the snorkelling activity. No refund.
How far is the South Whitehaven Lookout walk, and what should I wear?
The walk is ~900 metres each way (about 45 minutes return, including time at the top). Wear comfortable footwear, a hat, and sunscreen, and bring water.
