Unwind from Dusk to Dark on a Sundowner Sunset Cruise
Start your evening in the most relaxing way possible — with a 2-hour sunset cruise aboard Sundowner, Airlie Beach’s favourite floating social event. Welcome the evening with a glass of sparkling wine (or soft drink) and a shared platter of fresh nibbles as you cruise across the calm Coral Sea.

Watch the sunset over the Whitsunday Islands, then take in the sparkling lights of Airlie Beach as they begin to twinkle across the water. Whether you’re here to connect with fellow travellers or simply soak up the views, Sundowner offers the perfect blend of chilled-out cruising and good company.

Itinerary

– Welcome Aboard:
As you step aboard, enjoy a glass of Australian sparkling wine and a shared antipasto platter, setting the tone for a relaxing evening.

Experience Airlie Beach from a unique perspective as we cruise the circumference of Pioneer Bay. Enjoy stunning views of the islands, seaside homes, all while watching Airlie Beach Hill light up as night falls.
– Music & Social Vibes:
Relax to chilled sunset tunes then sing along to classic favorites. Whether you’re unwinding or engaging with fellow guests, the social atmosphere ensures a memorable time from start to finish.
– The Full Experience:
From the transition of light to dark, to the sparkling lights of Airlie Beach, this cruise is more than just a boat ride. It’s an opportunity to connect, share stories, and enjoy an evening that feels completely different.
– Return to Coral Sea Marina:
As the evening winds down, we’ll make our way back to the marina, leaving you with lasting memories of a perfect sunset cruise.

How to use

After the booking is confirmed, we will send a confirmation to your email. Please make sure to check your email and check the confirmation details in the PDF attachment. Please be at the Meeting Point B' at the Coral Sea Marina, North Village. Adjacent to the roundabout, near Le Kiosk, close to Sorrento's for boarding, 20-30 minutes before your cruise departs, present the electronic confirmation form to participate in the tour. Departure times may vary depending on the sunset, so please check the schedule in advance.

Please note: there are two halves to the marina. If you are driving you will first go past the south end – keep going until you reach the north end, which is at the roundabout in the cul-de-sac. There is a small paid carpark at the north end, and a large paid carpark at the south end if this one is full. It's about 5 minutes walk back to the meeting point from the south end car park.

Good to know

What to Bring: Camera. A secure hat, sunglasses and sun safe clothing, such as a lightweight, long sleeve top. Light jacket/jumper for windy wet or cool days (warmer jacket for winter June-Aug). Cash or card to pay for drinks if desired.

On very rare occasions, tours may be cancelled (severe weather, road or park closures, insufficient numbers (8 people)). Should this occur, you will be transferred to an alternative tour / date,or if this is not suitable, you will receive a full refund.

As we are a fully licensed venue, we do not allow BYO.

We love cash, but we do take both. You can pay for your drinks on Sundowner, with either cash or card. Please note a small surcharge applies to all card transactions.

The only reason we would cancel a tour would be for the safety and comfort of our guests due to high winds or rough seas. We would make this decision in the afternoon on the day before travel. You will be notified as soon as possible to reschedule or receive a refund in the event of operator cancellations within 24 hours of travel.

Sundowner is a flat platform with no ropes or pulleys to trip over, so no need for flats if you’re a heels kind of girl.

Please note we do not have facilities on board for cooking or storing food in fridges. Chilled or hot food can be stored in thermal containers provided by the caterer.

We have one toilet on Sundowner. It is a marine toilet and a little more sensitive than your standard household toilet.

Sundowner is a non-smoking vessel, this includes vapes. Private charter bookings may request that smoking be allowed, in which case a specific smoking area will be allocated at the front of the vessel, away from the engines and fuel at the back of the boat.

Sundowner is moderately accessible, with assistance. There is no boarding ramp, the entryway is narrow, and a step up is required. There is room on board for a limited number of prams or wheelchairs. The bathroom is not an accessible bathroom. If you do have access requirements, please let us know prior to booking, so we can work out how to look after you best.

We do not have a change table on board.

Infants do not need to wear a life jacket on Sundowner, and we do not carry infant sized jackets for general use. If you are concerned, please discuss with our team prior to arrival.

All tours are subject to minimum numbers and to weather conditions and so may be cancelled at the discretion of the operator. We also reserve the right to alter the destination or cancel activities pending the weather or unforeseen circumstances for your safety and comfort. No refunds or additional compensation will be given for projects that are not participated in.

Please note to agree and understand that to prevent fraud and ensure authenticity we'll be checking the credit card used for the booking and your ID before boarding the vessel.

Please note: natural conditions and visual features can vary daily and are not guaranteed, as they are influenced by tides, weather, and seasonal factors. As a result, itinerary changes due to weather conditions or expectations are not eligible for compensation or refunds.
