Overview

Duration: Approximately 90mins for visit

Australia’s mining, timber and farming heritage lives again at the Historic Village Herberton, just 90 minutes from Cairns. Immerse yourself in this unique and award winning 100% family owned Australian attraction. The collection features more than 60 original buildings, each housing an extensive display of memorabilia. With quirky Australian collectibles, olden day machinery, vehicles and thousands of genuine antique items, the Village is regarded as one of the most significant outdoor museums in Australia.

Take a self-guided tour and enjoy our interactive live working displays of blacksmithing, wood turning, John Deere tractors, the printery, small engines, sawmill, and antique motor vehicles. You’ll discover many highlights including the 130-year old grand pioneer homestead Elderslie House, the John Deere Tractor Shed, Coach house, Chemist and Toy Shop and the delightful Bakerville Hotel – now a traditional tearoom. The average visiting time at this multi-award-winning attraction is over 3 hours. Bring your camera, and dogs on leads are welcome. Experience a heritage train ride on the Atherton-Herberton Historic Railway every Sunday.
